TALKING  UX  DESIGN  AND  HOW TO SURVIVE AS AN INDIE ON JON  &  TED'S  EXCELLENT GAMECAST
I recently  made a new friend via the LA Indie Game Developers Meetup.  His name is Ted Edwards from Raptorcow and he invited me to be a guest on his  podcast - "The Jon & Ted's Excellent Gamecast."  Ted and Jon seemed like cool guys and we talked about a number of fun topics.  Notable highlights include:
  • 11:17 - What's the outlook for VR now that the $99 Samsung Gear VR   is available for pre-order?
  • 1:10:42 - How does somebody   get involved in User Interface (UI) & User Experience (UX) Design for games and why is it important?
  • 1:13:04 - What is the REAL  difference between UI  and UX?
  • 1:28:28 - Why is good UX Design in demand and how can it benefit your software development project?
  • 1:45:39 - What is the  "Indieapocalypse" and what can you do to avoid it as an independent game developer?
Press the Jon & Ted's Gamecast Logo Image to navigate to the podcast,  and don't forget to leave a comment here if you thoughts on the discussion!  Thanks!

Why  Go  Independent?  -  A Game-School.Com  Panel Video  Discussion

Recently, some new friends at LA-based  Heart-Centered  Tech and Game-School.com asked me to help organize and participate in a panel discussion at  Rhubarb Studios in the US Bank Tower in Downtown LA.  The panel was conducted by Charlie Trinh, Founder of Game-School.com, and featured Jay Kootarapallil of White Moon Dreams, Eric "Giz" Gewirtz of Seismic Games, myself, and Jason Mathias of Game-School.com.

In this video, we discussed the various aspects of Independent game development, touching upon topics such as VR, game engine technology, and personal enterpreneurship.  While Game Development is one of several services I offer at Amped-UX.com, I'm happy to share my experiences and help the guys at GameSchool.com guide independent developers to reach their  goals and realize their ambitions.

What do you think of the video?  Do you have different motivations for "goin' indie?"  Feel free to share this with  other like-minded developers and entrepreneurs or comment below!
